Course Overview: The overall aim of the programme is to provide the learner with the opportunity to work under direct supervision, providing assistance and support within an Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) setting and or to progress to further education and training.
Typical Modules: Child Development & Play- Childcare & Safety-Workplace Safety-Understanding Inter-Culturalism-Work Experience-Information Technology Skills- Communications- Personal Effectiveness- Handling Food Hygienically- Painting.
Entry Requirements: Junior Cert or LCA
Employment /Education Opportunities:
Work in a supervised Childcare or older person setting.
Achievement of this award will enable the learner to progress to other appropriate programmes leading to awards at the next or higher levels of the National Framework of Qualifications.
